Hello, I am trying to track down information pertaining to F102a-80-CO serial number 56-1468 stationed at Kincheloe AFB in 1959 and the people involved below. The plane crashed into Lake Huron after an engine flame-out. The pilot was Lt. Charles L. Oxley. The crash date was June 5, 1959. Lt. Oxley ejected and landed in the lake and made in into a life raft while Lt. Bob Perrine remained on station in another aircraft to verify. Lt Oxley was picked up by helicopter about two hours later. I have the general location of the crash site and local confirmation that salvage attempt was made in relatively shallow water. The fuselage was apparently destroyed by explosives to render it useless for duplication and left in the lake. This research project has been on the back burner for 20 plus years. Any information that anybody can provide pertaining to this would be appreciated. Thank you.
